Using SAP on IBM i?

Are you running SAP on IBM i?

If so, seriously consider attending the upcoming IBM - SAP on Power Summit event to be held in Rochester, Minnesota USA on April 26 - 27.

More details about the event can be found here.

Late April is a great time to visit SE Minnesota.  The snow should be melted by then!

  1. One basic question about DB2 on IBM i. Is DB2 come along with OS by default? Or Do we need to install it separately.

  2. Unlike the other DB2 family members (and virtually all other database management systems), DB2 for IBM i is part of the operating system. In other words, it is fully integrated, thus no need to install it separately or specifically. If you have IBM i installed, you have DB2 for IBM i installed.

  3. Just a short comment - One secret instruction that many private consultants receive is "not to suggest using IBM i for SAP because it does not generate much consulting." This should be music for all CIOs to use exactly SAP in IBM i.
